The music video for Girls’ Generation’s ‘I Got a Boy’ from their 4th album has received over 30 million views on video sharing site YouTube.
Following the words from SM Entertainment, the video for ‘I Got a Boy’ which was released on the 1st at 5 p.m. on YouTube had over 30 million views by the morning of the 16th (only 15 days after its release).
The video had 30,186,000 views as of 1 p.m.
It is the fastest rise of a music video on YouTube. The video also set a Kpop viewing record with over 20 million views in five days.
Psy’s music video for ‘Gangnam Style’ which currently has over one billion hits had 20 million views after 26 days and 30 million after 33 days.
‘I Got a Boy’ reached first place on the charts of Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and other charts in Asia. It reached 1st place on Billboard’s World Album Chart and is receiving attention from MTV, Rolling Stone, and Time.
